Follow the Eden Canoe Trail and hire at Glenridding .

There are many walks straight out of the door at High Brow - from a nice stroll alongside the banks of Aira Beck and Force to a days adventure over the Dodds and over Helvellyn and Striding Edge and back...These are a sample, please see the walks section for more walks and detail

Dodds and Helvellyn
13 mile walk, taking in Great Dodd, Watsons Dodd. Stybarrow Dodd, Raise, Hellvellyn. Return via Stake Pass and Glencoyne Head to Dowthwaite Head or Striding Edge into Glenridding and then Ullswater Way back to Dockray

Aira Force
The most beautiful Waterfall in the lakes, there are paths both sides of the beck and falls and good access from three carparks or a stroll down the hill from High Brow.

Gowbarrow
7 mile walk through Dockray, turn left up to Aira Crag, for panoramic views, return down gentle slope via National Trust tea shop, Aira Force and the Royal Dockray for a well-earned pint...Favorite early morning run in reverse.

Birkett Fell and Hart Side
6 mile out and back walk with great views over Ullswater and Blencathra

Ullswater way
20 mile waymarked paths around Ullswater - do in a long day or use Howtown steamer to break journey over two days
